The role entails working in the Basel III Production Team, performing Basel III Capital calculations under FINMA and/or PRA for month end and daily. This person will be required to perform calculations, variance analysis, supporting adhoc queries, audit issues etc. This will be a single contributor role.
The person has responsibility to ensure that the above tasks are performed to the standards required under the Collaboration Agreement with the Regulatory team and that issues are raised appropriately
Detailed duties and responsibilities
Key Deliverables:
- Perform Basel III calculations on a monthly and / or daily basis to the agreed Collaboration Agreement with the Regulatory team for all FSA and FINMA entities
- Analyze month over month movement and provide commentary.
- Liaise with the Regional Regulatory teams in APAC, UK and US on an ongoing basis
- Understand FINMA Capital Adequacy rules and how the rules are applied to production
- Understand the business reason on why a manual calculation is needed and why the underlying data is not flowing through infrastructure automatically.
- Primary contact for audit and front office queries.
- Provide assistance to other team members to ensure timely and accurate daily reports are completed and distributed to clients
- Development and streamlining of processes and procedures of exposure categories across both regulatory regimes – PRA and FINMA.
- Understand the main Regulatory systems which are STAR, Axiom and COMET.
- Obtain an understanding of upstream system dependencies.
General tasks
- Provide documentation on the template procedures quarterly.
- Provide sufficient supporting documentation to support compliance requirements
- Reconciliation of capital templates and strategic/ automated data

- 1-4 years of proven experience in financial accounting & regulatory reporting (preferably Basel)
- Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Reporting, Using Databases and Querying Tools
- Ability to liaise with business and technical teams of all levels.
- CA Preferred, MBA, CFA
- Outstanding skills in Excel
- Basic understanding of the various financial products like OTC Derivatives, Repos, Loans, Open Trades and how the accounting works will help to a large extent for this role. Accounting background is preferable
- Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking who can work on own initiative and can deliver on time under pressure with a high level of integrity and flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
Critical skills required:
- Advanced understanding/experience of databases and query tools
- Experience in Business Objects/ Reporting Tools
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office
- Good written and verbal skills
- Ability to liaise with all levels including senior management
- Excellent communication skills as profile requires daily interaction with global teams based in Singapore, London, Zurich and NY
