JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage and execute domestic and international payment transactions, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with Japanese banks (both major and regional) to open and close accounts, to resolve any issues related to banking operations, including the installation and troubleshooting of digital certificates and other IT-related matters.
  • Prepare and input payment details into Electronic Banking (EB) systems in Japanese, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies (including but not limited to preparation of the payments checklists, submission of reports to Bank of Japan, performance of call-backs etc.).
  • Read and interpret client invoices, ensuring all payment instructions are received from authorized signatories and processed by the specified value dates.
  • Collaborate with our London-based and India-based automation team to promote and implement automation of payment-related processes as far as practical and manage those interactions.
  • Take full ownership of the cash management process, with a view to eventually leading the operation and managing a team within the next 18-24 months.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring all cash management activities align with business objectives and client expectations.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Fluent in Japanese (N1), with strong English proficiency.
  • Proven experience working with Japanese banks, including both major and regional banks.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international payment processes and systems.
  • Experience with Electronic Banking (EB) systems and digital certificate installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret client invoices and payment instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
