Description:
To support the substantial growth and increasing complexities, we are recruiting a Finance Manager to become a key member of a global accounting project team. This position is located in our Manchester office and will be focused on leading the development of accounting tools and process improvements to support the global finance transformation initiative. This role requires active engagement with senior leaders in the accounting, finance, tax, technology and operations across multiple countries.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a demonstrated leader, a collaborative team-player, and an excellent communicator. This position will consult, as needed, with the business and IT teams to define requirements in order to support proper accounting and actively participate in process mapping discussions. As a seasoned Accounting professional, this person will be an expert in Financial Reporting under various accounting frameworks including US GAAP and IFRS.

As a representative of a global accounting project team, this position has a mix of project-based accounting responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Managing and leading global accounting projects from scoping through to testing and launch.
• Direct responsibility for improving accounting processes and controls for a high-volume business.
• Driving standardization and continuous improvement of processes and controls to obtain the highest integrity of financial reporting (US, local GAAP, and management reporting)-including partnering with appropriate stakeholders, for a successful end-to-end approach to reporting.
• Responsibility for actively engaging with a variety of stakeholders within the business, including technology and administrative team on business integration projects.
• Coordinate with the global accounting teams to establish and maintain strong communication channels.
• Leading and driving various meetings with senior management.

Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrable experience in relevant accounting roles.
• Must hold CPA / ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent certification and knowledge of various GAAP accounting rules including IFRS.
• Solid organisational, project management skills, and information technology aptitude.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
• Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership and delivering results in a leadership role.
• Must have worked in an organisation of similar size and scope.
• Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people and technology challenges in order to identify issues and opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
• Track record of having earned the trust of a leadership team by challenging norms, upgrading team performance, enabling growth, and improving efficiency.
• Fluent English required (verbal/written).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience from a 'Big 4' accounting firm.
• Experience working for a US or International, large fast-paced company.
• Computer literate in general (MS office, Essbase, Oracle, Cognos and similar).
• Experience with automation tools, such as Alteryx and Python.
