Role:

Finance Reporting and BI Analyst

Purpose of role:

Support the Finance Reporting Centre of Excellence (CoE) in delivering a best in class business intelligence and financial management information programme for Primark.

Reports to: Finance Reporting Centre of Excellence (CoE) Lead

Location: Dublin Head Office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Reporting Centre of Excellence (CoE) in delivering a best in class business intelligence and financial management information programme for Primark, through the 3 key pillars of automation, finance system improvements and data accuracy
  • Support the implementation of Finance report automation, consolidation and pull self-service, actively working to reduce manual and/or Excel based reporting
  • Prepare and maintain Financial report templates, particularly those used for period end Financial Management reporting and for Budget and Forecast reporting, proactively seeking automation opportunities
  • Preparation and formatting of Financial reporting packs for the business, ensure reports are created and aligned to standard style and formatting guidelines
  • Proactively seek Finance reporting enhancement and development opportunities, raise areas for potential improvement with management and support the implementation of changes
  • Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the data. Support the CoE in having consistently high levels of service that is timely, accurate and insightful and meets any SLAs and/or KPIs the Finance Reporting CoE may have
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify key information requirements and translate them into data and BI requirements
  • Work collaboratively across different Finance teams, particularly the FP&A, BI/Analytics and Technology teams
  • Support the successful delivery of finance system improvements that meet identified business requirements
  • Liaise with the Finance Systems and BI teams where improvements to database hierarchies and structures are identified
  • Support the implementation of technical enhancements to IBM Planning Analytics
  • Communicate with senior management providing updates on financial reports, progress and modifications

Essential knowledge, skills and capabilities:

  • Excellent report writing abilities and experience in presenting financial information provided for key business decision making
  • Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail and the ability to interrogate large data sets, manipulate data and create meaningful analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting & BI tools, experience with IBM Planning Analytics a notable advantage
  • Strong planning and organisation skills, ability to plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales
  • Detail orientated with a strong work ethic and ability to understand business requirements
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and pro-actively

Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:

  • Educated to a degree level +
  • Accounting qualification or working towards qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment / retail / FMCG
  • A passion for financial analysis and reporting
  • The ability to produce timely, accurate and insightful information and financial reports for key stakeholders
  • Experience of working at an advanced level in Microsoft Excel, experience with IBM Planning Analytics a notable advantage
