Sport and physical activity have been proven to play a critical role in supporting a positive mental and physical wellbeing and Scottish Sports Futures programmes successfully connect young people to their local communities and provide a range of person-centred, youth-led programmes to support them which include positive experiences, inspiring role models, engaging social education, training, and youth volunteering opportunities. Scottish Sports Futures need their next Head of Finance. In this role you will play a vital part to the organisation as you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. This is a fast paced, challenging, and rewarding role within a collaborative, friendly team who have a real family culture within a supportive environment. This is a varied role where you may be required to handle multiple priorities, from processing salary journals, board reporting, information gathering and sharing for funding applications, and maintaining accounting records to maintaining budgets, HR processes and payroll.

The new Head of finance should either have an accounting degree, finance qualification, or relevant experience along with an understanding of charity accounting requirements and of the Charities SORP. Previous experience of using financial accounting packages and managing multiple budgets with multiple funders, including tracking spend, monitoring income and expenditure and reporting to funders is important for this role. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to deliver to strict deadlines and have strong influencing skills along with being an exceptional problem solver. As an experienced bookkeeper you will have the ability to use all Microsoft packages and be competent with Xero.
