About the role...

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Project Accountant, on a permanent contract. The business has experienced continued success in the pandemic.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Accountant will work in close partnership with the Group Financial Accounting Controller and Management Accountants across the IVC Evidensia Group in capturing and governing spend on Opex, Capex and non-recurring designated project activity and forecasting spend profiles across 18 countries. The role will be responsible for providing project governance across all projects and providing project reporting to stakeholders. The estimated Project spend for 2022 financial year is in the excess of £100 million

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for providing project governance and reporting to senior stakeholders including the following:
  • Work with the Project Director and Group Financial Accounting Controller to design a process for capturing project forecasting and spend across the company, utilising the Project Costing module within our finance system, Open Accounts.
  • Design the governance model for creating and maintaining project codes, activity codes, lists of project managers and budget and forecasting profiles.
  • Design the training and roll out this process by knowing the product and best practice including training guides and sessions - being the subject matter expert
  • Administer the project codes and set up of projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Posting transactions to the project accounting/costing module
  • Responsible for assigning project numbers and adding budgets with Project Managers.
  • Assist with Capital / Non-recurring/ Opex Projects budgeting and forecasting and collaborate with the FP&A team.
  • Work with Finance Systems team to develop useful reporting for Project Managers and Senior Stakeholders.
  • Working to tight reporting deadlines


What are we looking for?

We are looking for a part qualified CIMA Accountant, with previous experience of Capital / Project Accounting desirable. You will have strong business knowledge and commercial acumen, and have strong interpersonal skills with a confident, enthusiastic approach and a can-do attitude. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills (Excel, Power BI) with the ability to make the complex simple. You will have excellent communication skills, incorporating written, verbal, presentation and reporting at all levels, and have excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

We are looking fir someone who is a relationship building and conflict resolution skills.
