About the Role

This parental leave assignment is to provide an interim replacement for the Finance Manager - Corporate Projects Reporting and Risk position which is within the CPB Contractors ("the company") Projects division of Group Finance.

This team is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate submission of all monthly management reporting requirements and for developing and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base of the Group's projects and positions.

The team currently has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven CA-qualified accountant with audit experience to continue the development of the project position library and knowledge base.

This role will focus on:
  • Leading a team of two, coaching and mentoring - Lead and provide guidance to, and assist in the development of, junior staff. First point of call to resolve technical issues.
  • Project position reporting - Review and Preparation of position papers on all major CPB Group contracts.
  • Project position reporting - Develop a deep understanding of significant CPB Group projects and accounting issues (and impact on Group results).
  • Audit support - Lead coordination of audit process, dealing with queries and providing support on a timely basis.
  • Business Unit support - Liaison with Business Unit and Project Finance Managers to ensure
  • accurate reporting of all CPB Group projects.
  • Project work - Review and Assist and drive ad-hoc projects and resolution of issues.
  • Process improvement - Continually challenge the processes and systems in place to ensure optimum efficiency, automation and quality of financial reporting process.

About you:

The candidate should possess the below skills and experience:
  • CA qualification
  • Accounting / Finance degree)
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in either financial and/or management accounting activities (general
  • accounting, financial analysis and reports)
  • Experience in an audit background (essential)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Advanced understanding of construction accounting ( beneficial not essential )
  • Ability to analyse and communicate financial information
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a client-focused approach are essential
  • Well-developed time management and leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail, yet ability to see the big picture
