Why this role is important to us

The Outsourcing Oversight Officer is responsible for supporting the organization’s outsourcing governance framework including oversight & control as well as reporting duties. The individual will work independently and will liaise with business departments, supporting functions and senior management teams of the organization.

What you will be responsible for

  • Coordination of legal entity outsourcing governance framework according to local and regulatory requirements
  • Administration, supervision and coordination of outsourcing risk analysis documentation and supervision of necessary adjustments to the documentation if risk situation has changed or according to the regular review
  • Supports compilation of the risk analysis performed by the business units; assessing risks: classification, qualification of impact, etc. and contributes to identifying source of risks during that processes
  • Analyses risk scenarios and develops recommendations for appropriate mitigating actions and internal control improvements based on the business unit proposals
  • Partner and support business units in risk monitoring related matters e.g. determination of KPIs; regular performance review of outsourcing service provider; SLA
  • Develops appropriate regular outsourcing risk reporting, internally (e.g. MIS, annual outsourcing report for senior management) and externally as required;
  • Administration of UK outsourcing inventories

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Master/ Bachelor degree in finance, business, accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a financial services organization, ideally within the asset management/- servicing industry and preferably with a risk management focus; previous operational risk experience would be ideal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in people and project management would be helpful but not mandatory
  • Skilled and experienced in using and understanding the capabilities of reporting facilities; proficient use of MS Office applications
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills, to be able to inform and persuade both orally and in writing
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Analytical, reliable and proactive working attitude with an eye for detail and ability to complete projects and keep to ambitious deadlines
  • Strong personal organization and planning skills and ability to work independently within tight timeframes
  • Ability to act across different business units/ areas

As an RFP Analyst within State Street Global Advisors’ Global Institutional Group, you will take an active role in the business development process, with responsibility for creating accurate, high-quality, and compelling requests for proposal, requests for information and due diligence questionnaires for prospective institutional clients and consultants. What you will be responsible for

  • Working with client facing teams to analyze proposal requirements to decide bid/no bid
  • Managing the completion of the RFP/RFI/DDQ to the deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for drafting, information gathering, review and final approval of RFPs/RFIs/DDQs
  • Engaging and partnering with internal subject matter experts to draft nonstandard answers to questions that are clear and compelling
  • Compiling performance, characteristics and personnel data for RFPs/RFIs/DDQs
  • Ensuring the firm brand, product messaging, and tone are consistent throughout the document
  • Minimizing reputational risk by working with subject matter experts to ensure that language and data meet regulatory requirements
  • Continually looking for ways to improve and simplify the RFP team’s processes
  • Maintaining and logging information for RFP reporting metrics
  • This role is part of the Global Request for Proposal, Request for Information and Due Diligence Questionnaire Team and in that role you will report to the respective team manager.

  • 3-5 years experience in asset management or strong consideration for those with prior RFP writing experience, or, mutual funds and ETFs exposure
  • Understanding of the asset management business, basic financial concepts, and regulations as well as knowledge of various asset classes (e.g., equity and fixed income), different investment products, and market segments
  • Comprehensive understanding of the products you support
  • Strong project management, analytical thinking, problem solving, research, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity for differentiated thinking and ability to challenge the status quo in order to drive optimal outcomes
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to understand and communicate investment data
  • Acute attention to detail
