Your field of responsibility

This position will be an integral part of Corporate Tax Team. Major areas of responsibility include: completing the state and local monthly compliance cycle in a complex multi-jurisdiction environment; coordinating, and participating in non-income tax audit defense, reverse audits, tax accounting, documenting SOX processes and special projects. Manage and prepare monthly, quarterly, annual state and local indirect tax returns. Reconciles monthly indirect tax obligation to amounts collected and ensure general ledger balances are accurate. Prepares supporting documentation for all tax returns and reconciliations. This role will work with both internal and external contacts. External contacts will include taxing authorities, vendors, and consulting partners.

The US tax team is located in New York and Raleigh and although geographically separate, the team is integrated and managed as a single unit. There is significant interaction on a daily basis between both locations. Your skills and experience

You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business.

  • Equivalent experience of 1-3 years’ in a corporate tax department, public accounting firm or law firm.
  • Proven track record of utilizing tax research tools to research sales and use tax regulations.
  • Ability to learn new software systems quickly.
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics tools such as Tableau, QlikView or Alteryx is a plus!
  • Outstanding experience working with pivot tables and large amounts of data within Excel or Access.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Have the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at the same time.
