About the Role

The Fund Accountant reports to Vice President and supports Fund Accounting team.

Primary responsibilities include:  

• Preparing accurate and timely net asset valuations for a growing portfolio of hedge and private equity funds and performing certain share registrar and transfer agency functions, including processing investment and shareholder transactions and posting accounting entries;
• Involvement in client-related and internal administrative functions and liaison with investment managers, prime brokers and other transaction counterparties in various international jurisdictions; and
• Deliver high levels of client service in accordance with internal policies and procedures.

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

• Excellent academic background and will have at least 1 year experience in accounting for investment products, ideally with single-manager hedge funds and private equity funds. Preference will be given to candidates with prior fund administration and Advent Geneva/Investran accounting software experience;
• Direct experience of equalisation accounting methodologies, fee structures for both hedge funds and private equity, and anti-money laundering and relevant regulatory requirements will be beneficial;
• Have a clear understanding of private equity and SPV accounting, securities commonly encountered in the hedge fund industry, including equities, bonds, swaps, options, and futures, and the ability to account for these securities; and
• Demonstrate strong written communication and verbal presentation skills.
