The Role Responsibilities

Strategy & Business

  • Participate in discussions on business requirements from Finance team and create Business Requirements Document and Functional Requirements Document for Countries Local Regulatory Returns
  • Review detailed requirements and discuss options for design of functionality with Technology teams and other functions, where required
  • To obtain and record approvals received from users on the business requirements.
  • Perform analysis and explore options to resolve issues identified
  • Provide test cases and actively participate in User acceptance test and ensure closure of open findings in a timely manner.
  • Clearly document and record user acceptance sign offs.

Processes

  • Prepare project documentation and tracker as required
  • Ensuring adherence to Program standards (e.g. progress reporting, risks and issues, change control, configuration management, etc.)

People and Talent

  • Liaise and maintain cordial working relationship with project peer group on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in management meetings and update PMO with project status
  • Escalate critical issues for management attention

Governance & Risk Management

  • To highlight potential risks that arises impacting the scope, time and cost of the project on a real time basis to Team Lead, Project managers and stake holders as appropriate
  • Strong governance and robust documentation and controls
  • Consistent Risk and Issue Management

Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Regulatory Reporting area to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Project experience in Finance projects, preferably in Regulatory Reporting with over 6 + years in the banking space
  • Ideally a Chartered Accountant or holding a Bachelor of Accountancy/ Finance degree
  • Strong knowledge of Finance processes and accounting related principles in the Banking space
  • Familiarity with building data structures and understanding how they interface with finance requirements
  • Domain knowledge of SCB Transaction systems (Retail, Private Banking, CCIB) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Track record of working in a very organized way, multi-tasking, prioritising, managing data, and setting and achieving deadlines (both short and long term)
  • Capacity to think creatively and laterally; excellent reasoning skills and the ability to make sound judgments
  • Scrum/Prince Project Management experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Banking
  • Good MS Project Management skills
