What will you be doing?

Accurate processing of client's financial data and assistance with the preparation of management accounts and other outputs, within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute.

As an Accounts Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate processing of clients' financial data and the preparation of annual financial accounts and associated outputs therefrom, within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute.

  • Preparation of management accounts and internal reports.

  • Support in providing the full range of business outsourced services to clients including: working with cloud based accounting software, ixbrl tagging, company secretarial tasks, VAT returns.

  • Championing the use of cloud technology to improve client accounting and business processes.

  • Prepare annual financial statements including statutory accounts, predominately under FRS102. This will include consolidated financial statements for our group clients as experience level progresses.

  • Interactions with clients to undertake accounting work as required - both over telephone/e-mail and on-site client visits.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Professional qualifications;

  • AAT qualification (or almost qualified) with first time passes at AAT exams.

  • Candidates who have begun studying for ACCA or ACA would also be considered.

  • Prior experience of computerised accounting packages is required including Xero and Quickbooks Online (or equivalent systems).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team including keeping managers updated on tasks.

  • Candidate must have experience of client communication.

  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines.

  • Candidate must be up to date on financial reporting standards and up to date with relevant CPD requirements
