This role is a 12 month part time Accounts Assistant role, based in South West London.

This is a hybrid working position for 20 hours a week (4 hours per day).

Client Details

My client is a leading travel and tourism company looking for a part time Accounts Assistant starting on a 12 month contract, that has the opportunity to be extended.

Description

Staff Expenses

  • Checking expenses via paper form and the online expense system (Concur)
  • Entry of approved expenses into the accounting system.
  • Reconciliation of staff prepaid/corporate credit card transactions

Polish Office Support

  • Payment and ledger entry of agent commissions via Citibank Bank
  • Processing applicant refunds via Citibank/Dotpay (online credit card)
  • Funding of Polish office via Citibank/Santander bank

Monthly Reconciliations

  • Data collection of legal/professional/building maintenance/cleaning & miscellaneous expenses
  • Allocating unidentified bank income

Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation

  • Book keeping entries and preparing monthly management accounts
  • Bank payments

Fairfx (Company prepaid cards)

  • Card loads and unloads
  • Data entry into the accounting system, (Great Plains)

Online Credit Cards

  • Process refunds via our online credit card system (Secure Trading)
  • Process expired card data and input bank data for payments where card is no longer in used

Year End

  • Assist the Finance team with year end reporting
  • Assist with bank reconciliations with supporting documentation

Other

  • Cover for Purchase Ledger Controller
  • Assist with collation of data for National Statistic returns
  • Liaise with other staff; departments; banks; and suppliers as required
  • Other projects as may be assigned from time to time
  • Assist Management Accountant processing overseas expense returns and reconciliation

Profile



Outline of skills required

  • An enthusiastic, dynamic individual is sought with ideally at least one years' experience gained from working in an accounting department and working in a team.
  • A working knowledge of the purchase ledger is desirable
  • A theoretical knowledge of double entry book keeping would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Good IT skills and must be proficient in Excel.
  • Exposure to Great Plains/Barclays Online/Citibank and Concur would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of multi-currency operations is desirable, but not essential
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively liaise with colleagues at all levels

Job Offer

  • 22 days holiday p.a full time. (Pro-rata for part-time)
  • Private medical insurance after 6 months service and successful probation
  • Company pension. Employees will be assessed for auto enrolment on employment and on enrolment, the employer's contribution is 5% of basic salary. The employee is required to make the balance of contribution to comply with pension regulations
  • Pay will be £30000- Pro Rata (20 hours per week)
