AstraZeneca's Group Financial Reporting function is continuing its transformation journey with the objective of delivering excellence in financial reporting and control. As a Treasury Reporting & Control Accountant for AstraZeneca Group you will support group reporting, SOX processes, financial statements accounts preparation and the provision of technical treasury financial instruments accounting advice. You will play a pivotal role in the completion of the Treasury unit monthly submission, ensuring a robust control environment is maintained in compliance with SOX requirements.

Other Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • You will liaise with Group Tax and prepare accounting issues notes for tax-related transactions
  • You will prepare Annual Report notes for Treasury and maintain close contact with the external auditor and FCCG throughout audits across Treasury
  • As a member of Group Financial Reporting you will business partner on accounting issues and the provision of technical accounting advice for Treasury and other Group transactions
  • You will prepare monthly risk reporting and Group net debt, interest charge and FX analysis
  • You will support on new accounting standards development for treasury and financial instruments
  • You will have opportunity for project work both within the Treasury and the wider Group Financial Reporting team.


Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • In addition to ACA, CIMA or a similar accounting qualification you will possess post qualification experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • You will possess strong technical and analytical accounting skills with significant experience of financial controls, year-end accounts preparation and external auditor liaison.
  • You will be an individual who is keen to take on a new challenge and build on your current experience to gain knowledge and expertise in a complex area within finance.
  • Previous exposure to the accounting for treasury financial instruments and derivatives is desirable but the capability and aspiration to build knowledge around IAS 21, IAS 32, IFRS 7 and IFRS 9 accounting and reporting is considered equally important.
