Job Description:

Due to the continued growth and success of our Business Risk Services (BRS) practice, we are seeking a Manager to join the team. This opportunity will develop and grow your career with high profile clients where each assignment is different from the last.

  • Be a part of a team. Our BRS team provide internal audit and risk advisory services to the FTSE100/250 and equivalents, international and major charities and not for profit organisations, and central government departments. You will provide tailored, flexible and cost-effective solutions, that provide access to industry best practice methodology, value add insights and subject matter experts.
  • Own your own work. You'll take ownership for delivering allocated assignments in a way that exceeds client expectations while taking responsibility for managing and developing more junior members of the team. You'll ensure assignments are appropriately scheduled and resourced and ensure terms of reference/audit planning documents are agreed by the client prior to work starting. You'll agree budgets for review with Partner and/or client. You'll review existing work programmes to ensure alignment to terms of reference.
  • Take responsibility. You'll ensure the effective allocation of resource for assignments, proactively maximises efficiencies and provides development opportunities to the team. You'll ensure effective team working and that all information to support key decisions is documented. You'll review working papers and provide feedback and coaching to more junior team members. You'll ensure the scope of review is met and that the teams are working to Grant Thornton's methodologies. You'll keep abreast of issues as they arise through liaison with the team and escalate these as needed. You will support Senior Managers/Directors in managing client relationships, monitoring budgets and raising invoices.
  • Build your brand. This role offers exciting opportunities for the right person to expand their knowledge. The team has a history of developing internal talent for progression.


The minimum criteria

Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or ITA)

Experience of internal and external auditing

Strong communication skills (both written and oral)

  • Experience of using risk and control software and Microsoft packages.
  • Flexibility to be able to travel to client premises when required.

  • Experience of preparation and delivery of presentations.
  • Able to build active internal networks which crosses geographical and client service boundaries and contributes to this network to enable others to share their knowledge.
