Department Profile

Bank Resource Management FCO is a division within the Institutional Securities Group (ISG) that is responsible for the Firm’s securities financing transactions (including repo and securities lending), hedging of OTC derivative counterparty exposures, strategy and optimization of clearing relationships, and global collateral management.

BRM principal responsibilities include:

  • Secured Funding and Collateral Optimization
  • Client financing, Borrowing and Lending
  • Centralized Clearing and Margin Optimization
  • Strategy planning and oversight
  • Sales and Marketing
Description of BRM Funding and Collateral Optimization Sales Role, Vice President

The successful candidate will be based in London and will be responsible for developing and managing client relationships, providing market colour and summarizing developments or opportunities in markets. Critically, they will own and drive relationships to improve Morgan Stanley’s Funding and Collateral optimization business primarily by partnering with Clients to ensure the most optimal use of the firm’s assets/liabilities to achieve revenue targets and optimization objectives.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Developing new and existing relationships with clients across EMEA and APAC including security lenders, corporate treasurers, pension funds and other liquidity providers
  • Cross selling the firm with MSIM, GCM, PWM and ISG Divisions including Sales and Trading desks
  • Deliver frequent updates to clients and BRM management with market color and intelligence
  • Travel and represent BRM FCO for applicable industry and client events and visits
  • Articulating client asks and providing feedback on client and liquidity flows in various daily and weekly meetings
  • Preparation and distribution of daily/weekly market commentary and internal updates
  • Cross-divisional collaboration with members of Funding, Securities Lending, Client Financing, Sales, Corporate Treasury, Prime Brokerage, and trading desks across FID and IED to monetize firm assets externally in secured financing transactions.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with strong inter personal skills
  • Sales experience is required. Strong interest in financial markets - particularly equity and fixed income financing markets (sec lending, repo, delta one) and short duration fixed income products (front end credit and rates)
  • An understanding of key regulatory requirements and frameworks across the financing markets
  • Competitive team player that measures success with results with strong interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in telephone, written and face to face interactions and participation in industry events and conferences
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and work in dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skill. Strong presentation skills with ability to organize and deliver strategic initiatives
  • Proficient in PPT, Excel, Bloomberg
