The opportunity

Our Valuations Modelling and Economics team, part of EY’s Strategy and Transactions service line, works with clients across different sectors including private equity, infrastructure, private debt and corporate clients. We advise our clients on a range of valuation matters across commercial, strategic, financial reporting, tax, and operational purposes. Being part of our team, you will be able to provide your inputs to delivery of high-quality advice to our clients.

VME work provides the opportunity to work for high profile projects and clients. Our valuation advice enables our clients to take strategic and key business decisions. You will be able to contribute to a variety of assignments, including cross-border as well as cross-service lines assignments. Within the team you’d have the opportunity to work on valuation issues of different complexity and communicate directly with management. The nature of the work is project based and covers a spectrum of industries and asset classes.

Your key responsibilities

You will manage project teams in performing valuations for the purpose of financial reporting, management incentive plans, M&A transactions, tax and regulatory compliance, restructuring and reorganization.

You will also review valuation reports prepared by other valuers and provide a credibility check on the valuation inputs and fair value estimations.

Additionally, as a manager, you will closely collaborate with your partner in relation to new business development and market visibility, manage proposals preparation, and developing solutions for external clients.

In your manager role, you will contribute to coaching and supporting more junior team members, as well as participate in recruitment efforts.

You will be working within available budgets and tight timelines while managing your project teams and keeping the engagement partner updated with progress.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in various initiatives with teams across our organisation, on specific topics of interest (eg sector specialisation, technical knowledge).

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • You hold a University or preferably Master degree with specialization in Finance/Economics or similar
  • At least 5 years of work experience in valuation and/or transaction world
  • Strong quantitative and Excel skills and ability to create financial models based on client’s strategic financial business plans, as well as building models from scratch
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly and logically explain valuation matters to clients and colleagues from non-valuation / non-finance backgrounds
  • You are fluent in English
  • You display the ability to communicate effectively and act as a team player.
  • You are organized, flexible and able to manage several files
  • You are committed to continued professional development (e.g. CFA, RICS)
  • You are proactive, eager to learn and grow, with strong communication and interpersonal skills both internally and in client facing situations.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Fluent language skills in French and/or German
