Financial Accountant

Client Details

Our client is a large US owned manufacturing business, which has a turnover of c. £100 million, but is part of a c. £3.5 billion turnover group of companies. The Financial Accountant will be based at the site near Burton-on-Trent, which is commutable from Derby, Litchfield and Burton-on-Trent.

Description

As Financial Accountant you will deliver accurate and timely financial information and establish and maintain a robust environment to ensure full auditability of financial data. You will support with the delivery of monthly financial accounts and the annual statutory accounts and will support with managing the external audit activities. Duties will include, but will not be limited:

• Preparation and management of prepayments and accruals
• Reviewing the debtors ledger and driving cash collection by resolving customers issues
• Daily reconciliation of the company's bank accounts and posting bank transactions
• Managing the fixed asset register
• Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies and statutory accounting standards (UK and US GAAP)
• Processing employees expenses, reconciling credit card spend and resolving discrepancies
• Processing all transactions (BS and P&L)
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
• Manage the cost centre structure of the business and generate cost centre expenditure reports
• Assist with month end where necessary
• Contribute to strategic plans

Profile

To be considering for this position you must:

• Have experience of working in financial accounts
• Have experience of some (although not all) of the duties above
• Be studying ACCA, ACA or CIMA
• Live within a commutable distance to the site near Burton-on-Trent

Job Offer

This is a permanent opportunity, which is offering:

• A salary between £33,000 and £36,000
• Full study support for CIMA, ACCA or ACA
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Initially an office based role, but the potential to work some days from home in the future
• Free on site parking
• A 37 hour working week, with an early 1pm finish on Fridays
