Aviation Finance Assurance Manager – Financial Services (FS)

The opportunity

Within our financial services assurance practice, we have a specialist aviation finance team which works with the world’s largest and fastest growing aircraft lessors. We provide a quality and consistent audit offering to these companies by assembling multi-disciplinary and international teams to deal with complex issues and the impact of COVID-19 on the sector.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Lead out on client relationships and stakeholder management through ongoing communication and resolution of key audit issues.
  • Active involvement in financial services business development activities to identify new business opportunities. Understand our service lines and actively assess ways to apply knowledge and services and grow our business.
  • Understand the client’s industry, key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to professional staff and participate in the conduct of a wide range of assurance services, with a particular focus on complex and specialised issues, including audits, controls reviews, remediation projects, and assistance with regulatory compliance
  • Develop team members by encouraging individuals to maintain work life balance and take responsibility and accountability for their contributions to the team.
  • Plan engagement objectives to ensure compliance with professional standards and appropriately address risk. Prepare and review management communications, proposal budgets, and negotiate fees and overruns.
  • Review and approve for signing all financial statements, opinions and reports and other deliverable documents for clients.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major, as well as ACA, ACCA or CPA certification;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an auditor for a public accounting firm,
  • Industry experience within banking or aviation finance preferable but not essential
  • Excellent project management skills with experience of auditing large companies;
  • A proven track record in establishing and developing strong client relationships;
  • Excellent technical knowledge with an emphasis on IAS 16, IAS 36, IFRS 9 and IFRS 16;
  • US GAAP and capital markets transaction experience desirable but not a prerequisite;
  • A dedication to teamwork and leadership; and
  • Integrity within a professional environment.

Ideally you’ll also have

  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Minimum of 18 months' left on your valid Passport to facilitate Work Permit & Visa applications (where applicable)
