The Team:

The team is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Anti-Financial Crime processes and associated controls in UK Transfer Agency and any outsourced activity.

The role requires the completion of workloads to support AML compliance services aligned to:

  • AML legislation/regulation & guidance/best practice
  • The AML Team’s processes and procedures

There is a requirement to hold, build and maintain a strong relationship with the Northern Trust Transfer Agency Department to deliver a robust AML service to Northern Trust’s client and investor base.

Key responsibilities include

  • Maintain AML/KYC policies and procedures
  • Provide advice and guidance on AML/KYC requirements to processing teams
  • Support complex/non-standard onboarding and ongoing AML reviews
  • Support screening processes for PEP, Sanctions and Adverse Media
  • Support the AML transaction monitoring process including oversight of AML alert investigations
  • Investigate referrals of unusual activity relating to fraud
  • Perform quality assurance sample checks and oversight for all AML/KYC processes to ensure required standards are being met
  • Support audit and assurance reviews, both internally and with external clients
  • Manage and execute client projects and change initiatives related to financial crime
  • Manage AML complaints to resolution, including deep dive reviews into root cause issues

Skills/Experience

  • Understanding of UK Anti-Money Laundering Requirements
  • Previous experience working in an AML/KYC role (either first or second line of defence)
  • Strong team-player who builds collaborative relationships
  • Good communicator / confident dealing with key stakeholders
