Manager, IT Audit

IA's purpose is to help the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of the Company by providing independent and objective assurance designed to add value and improve the Company's operations. IA does this by assessing whether all significant risks are identified and appropriately reported by management and the Risk function to the Board and Executive Management; assessing whether they are adequately managed; and by challenging Executive Management to improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls. Specific to Investigations, IA will investigate and report on serious alleged breaches of the Company's Business Ethics Code.

The scope of IA's activities extends to all legal entities, outsourcing and reinsurance arrangements. These are currently primarily based in Singapore. In line with the above, the below describes the Audit Manager's key activities for which he/she will be held personally accountable for

This is an individual contributor role and the Audit Manager's role comprises of the following key responsibilities:

Audit Plan

• Support the delivery of an appropriate risk-based audit plan, based on a detailed understanding of the risks facing the business for the area of responsibility and for relevant themed reviews
• Manage audit focus through applying risk analysis skills and professional judgement to identify areas for in-depth review
• Support Head of Audit in identifying requirements to ensure highly specialised technical knowledge and experience is applied appropriately to audit reviews

Audit Reviews

• Lead individual reviews from planning to close, including appropriate scoping of audits.
• Produce / deliver high quality working papers, and audit file to support the findings of the reviews assigned.
• Produce / deliver objective and concise audit reports.
• Adhere to quality control including formal sign-off in line as per the Audit Methodology.
• Stakeholder and relationship management at a senior management level within the business. This includes engagement during audit planning and reporting findings from audit fieldwork to local business management with the intent of influence their actions to deliver a more effective controls framework.
• Own the interaction with business management for issue tracking and closure.
• Manage other auditors for reviews where applicable
• Manage individual time budgets for audits assigned

Committee reports

Contribute to the production of /Produce reports to Internal Audits key stakeholders (e.g. Audit Committees, Risk Committees, and Board Committees etc) and through these influencing management actions to deliver a more effective controls framework where appropriate

Requirements:

• Extensive IT operations, process and assurance knowledge and broad business knowledge (preferably insurance industry), including specific advanced skill and competence in at least one core IT assurance area
• Broad and in-depth knowledge of industry standard frameworks and best practice (e.g., Technology Risk Management Guidelines (MAS), Information Technology Outsourcing (MAS), Guidance Note on the Use of Internet for Insurance Activities (OCI), COBIT, ITIL, CMM, relevant International Standards)
• Experience post professional qualification in appropriate business environment (including IT, IT assurance, governance & security)
• Experience in leading complex projects/reviews, leading small-medium teams and negotiation situations.
• Experience in managing the senior level relationships and influencing their behaviour.
• Sound project management skills, to support complex technical and business reviews, using teams of variable size and composition across geographical locations. CII or other insurance / asset management qualification preferred.
