Tax Consultant, Corporate Tax

Corporate Tax Group provides clients with a wide range of services, including:

• Tax reviews of the international and Ukrainian businesses in respect of corporate profit tax, VAT and other taxes (core and main services provided by the Group)
• Consulting on practical application of the Ukrainian tax legislation, possible tax implication of accounting treatment under UNAS and IFRS and tax structuring
• Preparing or amending of accounting policies, internal orders and other source documents, effective structuring of the document flow confirming accounting and tax records and declarations figures
• Preparing official requests to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and to the State Tax Service of Ukraine on the legislatively unsettled accounting and tax treatment matters
• Tax support of UNAS-IFRS transition
• Mergers and acquisitions projects

Responsibilities:

As a Consultant, you will work full time as a team member under the supervision of a Tax Manager and Senior Tax Consultants.

You will initially focus on the following tasks:

• Performing researches in tax legislation, court practice, clarifications of the tax office, and analysis on tax and accounting matters
• Participation in tax reviews, including analyzing certain areas of accounting records, tax reporting and primary documents of Ukrainian companies, verifying tax treatment of business transaction
• Preparing of advice on various tax and accounting issues in English, Ukrainian and Russian
• Drafting of accounting policies and other accounting documents for companies of various business sectors
• Assisting Senior Consultants and Managers in handling clients’ engagements (from drafting proposal and contract to providing responses to the clients' requests)

Based on the experience that you will have acquired, you will gradually take a more overall responsibility on the client engagements, including in-depth analysis of tax and accounting issues, preparation of deliverables, communication with clients, and managing junior team members

Requirements:

• University degree in Taxation, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Audit
• Good knowledge of taxation (corporate profit tax, VAT, withholding tax, payroll taxes, transfer pricing), and accounting. Basic knowledge of IFRS and international taxation knowledge is a great plus
• Minimum of 1+ year of professional experience in accounting/ finance/ tax. Experience within Big4, other reputable consulting companies or industry sector (e.g., trading and producing entities, pharmacy, IT, etc.)
• Intermediate or higher in English as well as Ukrainian and Russian
• Extensive computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and learn fast
• Goal-oriented, ambitious, and ready to work hard
