Join this innovative social business as Head of Financial Control & Transactions and build on your senior-level experience in finance management or accounting to ensure that the function and its systems are fully equipped to meet both statutory requirements and business needs.

Raven is a business with a clear social purpose: building homes and changing lives in Surrey and Sussex. We aim to be an outstanding provider of homes, a cornerstone of the community and an innovative employer.

As Head of Financial Control & Transactions, you’ll be responsible for preparing the statutory accounts for the Raven Group, in addition to other external financial reporting. Implementing financial systems and improving processes are also key elements of this role. Maintaining the general ledger, purchasing systems and interfaces to other operational systems, you’ll also lead a team responsible for managing finance transaction (payments, payroll, income and journals), as well as providing expert advice on all taxation and accounting issues for the Group.

This opportunity will suit an expert in the financial management of a housing, not for profit, public sector or similar organisation, ideally with experience of the housing sector regulatory environment and housing development finance. In addition to the ability to lead and manage a team to deliver against day-to-day performance targets, we would expect you to have the experience and commercial vision to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Professionally qualified (CCAB or equivalent), you’ll have significant knowledge of best practice in financial and capital accounting, reporting and tax, together with a good working knowledge of financial control frameworks, as well as accounting and purchasing systems. You should also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively and caring about making things better.

We support and trust our staff to work as a team and be their best. We offer good salaries and benefits, a great pension scheme, paid holiday and sickness benefit, plus support for further training to develop your skills and career.
