Senior Finance Business Partner

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be currently recruiting for a well-established and key employer in the area as they look to bring in a Senior Finance Business Partner to strengthen the support the business and aid with the delivery of the overall business strategy.

The Finance Business Partner will support the finance team and a number of key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of business objectives, through the provision and interpretation of key management information.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

*Lead provision of strategic financial support for academic business units; work closely with senior leaders and managers to understand and inform priorities and plans
*Develop an in-depth understanding of relevant business area(s) to assure quality and usefulness of financial performance information
*Provide specific, timely and relevant advice and challenge
*Costing and scenario modelling, enabling assessment of the financial impacts of new initiatives as well as understanding current operating performance
*Develop targets and budgets underpinned by robust planning in collaboration with relevant services/ business areas
*Develop and manage partnerships with both external and internal stakeholders
*Work collaboratively and strategically to deliver and enhance the service offer
*Work with stakeholders to ensure understanding of financial pressures, requirements and opportunities
*Responsible for financial forecasting and monitoring of operational and wider strategic activities, to facilitate annual and longer term planning e. preparation of budget proposals and development of business cases for initiatives
*As a member of the senior management team, develop plans to ensure delivery of wider business strategic objectives
*Support other business leaders to produce and present papers/report to relevant boards/committees to support operational and strategic decision making
*Work with stakeholders to understand and anticipate business needs, diagnose underlying issues and build the case for change ensuring that the financial impacts and risks are clearly identified
*Promote and embed a culture which drives financial performance management across the business
*Pro-actively analyse and use appropriately commissioned financial management information available to identify trends or issues and use this information to influence senior leaders to take appropriate action
*Work in partnership with other senior leaders, creating an integrated approach and providing leadership of cross-university working groups and projects
*Provide senior leadership for Finance as a whole when required
*Develop and maintain an external network, engaging in horizon scanning and building effective and influential relationships with stakeholders (Both internal and External)
*Responsible for people and resources within own service to ensure a cost effective but high quality operation
Drive results through effective team and individual performance

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

*A qualified accountant (eg. ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
*Previous experience in a commercial or business partnering experience
*Excellent communication skills and proven ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
*High attention to detail, ensuring integrity in financial reporting and written reports
*A strong IT user able to deal effectively with a high volume of data
*An ambitious team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to lead others
