The Role

The continued growth of the company and integration into the KION Group AG has resulted in an opportunity to hire a tax accountant into the local finance team. This role is part of a team of five people and working with colleagues in the UK and internationally.

The Tax Accountant will be responsible for a wide variety of taxes, new registrations and the hands on preparation of returns and information for advisors. They will be responsible for managing the relationship with foreign branch tax advisors and support the finance manager with process improvement and other ad hoc tasks and projects.

  • Foreign Branch Corporate Income Taxes
  • VAT returns for UK and multiple European registrations
  • UK Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) VAT
  • Set up new VAT registrations as needed
  • Monthly Expense Analysis for Corporation Taxes
  • Preparation of Annual Tax Advisor Information Packs
  • Manage timely payment of tax liabilities
  • Reconciliation of taxation accounts
  • Annual Country by Country Reporting
  • Annual Transfer Price Reporting
  • Intrastat reporting
  • Processing of Import Duty and Import VAT
  • Support Finance Manager and Global Tax Director as required
  • Provide cover for colleagues on a range of financial accounting tasks


What We Are Looking For

  • Newly Qualified accountant with Corporation Tax and VAT knowledge
  • University graduate or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of preparation and Submission of VAT and Corporation tax returns
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and able to deliver accurately to deadlines
