My client, a global financial services institution are seeking a Financial Accountant to join their growing financial department. Reporting to the Group Accountant the newly appointed Financial Accountant will manage and undertake key aspects of IFRS 9 reporting, provide analysis, deal with technical queries and ensure accurate reporting at all times.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant
- Acting as the subject matter expert for IFRS 9 reporting (primarily impairment related) for internal and external reporting, and support Finance in impairment related queries
- Ensuring that the Group has an up to date understanding in respect of this area, by keeping up to date with technical developments and communicating these to relevant parties
- Oversee and support month end IFRS 9 processes within required deadlines
- Prepare internal MI, regulatory data and external disclosures (automating where possible)
- Undertake analysis as required to produce a more in depth analysis of financial information, working closely with Credit Risk and FP&A to explain and understand movements in IFRS9 provisions
Essential Requirements
- Accounting qualification (ACA /ACCA /CIMA)
- Financial services experience
- Experience of technical accounting and analysis, preferably in IFRS 9
- Understanding of data modelling
- Excellent excel skills and ability to work with large data sets
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Proactive in bringing new ideas and improvements to the business area
