Senior Accountant

Working for the Head of Finance you will play a key role in the design and implementation of a new finance function which will be delivered in 2022. The first 18 months will be mapping and designing the function, then you'll deliver it and work as the right hand to the Head of Finance.

Description

The successful Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Finance with the design and implementation of a financial in-sourcing project which will be delivered in 2022.

As part of the financial in-sourcing project you will undertake a finance process mapping exercise and create to-be process maps and accounting policies. You will ensure all future processes and procedures are documented and that there is a culture of knowledge transfer, process improvement and development within the team

Alongside this key project the Senior Accountant will also be responsible for verifying the accuracy of financial records, assist in report and analysis generation, and contribute towards improving Finance systems, policies and procedures.

They will be accountable for the management of all accounting operations including tasks such as; monthly accruals and prepayments, monthly and/or quarterly reconciliations, month-end accounts, VAT returns, variance analysis and preparing the board pack.

Profile

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering fast paced projects in a changeable environment.

They will have strong all round technical accounts experience and be able to support at all levels.

They will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or Qualified by experience.

Advance IT skills including Excel (including macros, advanced formulae, Vlook up, pivots), Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Strong communication and influencing skills will pay a key role in this position, as will a high attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience of working in an organisation with a cost-plus accounting model would be beneficial.
