This international charity is looking to recruit an experienced International Project Accountant/Programme Finance Officer, within their finance team to support the key overseas programmes.
Reporting to the Programme Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing financial management for all sources of funding, financial training and support to overseas finance staff. Your daily duties will include:
- Provide support to international programmes in the efficient and effective running of their financial accounting and reporting
- Responsible for all aspects of financial management that relate to the region's programmes, partners, offices and staff
- Provide meaningful analysis and insight on financial performance and contributing to the charities approach to innovation and insight
- Support programme managers with knowledgeable, helpful advice and guidance on financial issues, ensuring managers have a clear understanding of the financial framework
- Provide support to the full life cycle of grants; from donor concept notes, proposals through to final reports
- Knowledge of the compliance rules and regulations whilst working with EC, ECHO, DFID funding streams would be highly desirable
- Support and maintain a close working relationship with the programme including their finance teams in the field; providing training and support where appropriate
The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA newly qualified or a finalist with experience working within and international development organisation. You must possess management accounting experience with strong budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience.
It would be advantageous if you have proven experience working with a programme/project accounting role with overseas programmes - you must be a strong business partner and have the ability to analyse complex financial data.
In this key role it is essential that you have strong written and verbal communications skills whilst possessing strong systems skills with advanced knowledge of Excel.
