The job: Corporate Accountant - Fixed term contract

Due to internal promotion we have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious part qualified Accountant to join our team based in PaisleyThis is an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding Centre Of Excellence in an organisation considered a global leader in its field which offers great career development and opportunities.
The centre provides financial controllership in the region for two of the Thermo Fisher Scientific groups - Life Sciences Solutions and Special Diagnostics. We are responsible for a large number of entities reporting a total of $2 Billion of revenue per year. This role will be responsible for our SDG business for Vantaa, Finland.

What will you do?

• Ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of monthly close activities
• Evaluating entries for completeness and accuracy
• Reviewing general ledger activity, researching and correcting account discrepancies
• Performing balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub ledger accounts
• Performing variance analysis including current-to-prior month/quarter/year fluctuations
• Management reporting to Corporate through Hyperion

Who we are looking for:

• Experience of month end reporting, statutory accounts, management accounting, balance sheet reconciliations & VAT returns
• Previous experience in a large scale organisation would be beneficial
• Highly motivated and detail oriented individual with excellent communication, computer and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment
• Excellent attention to detail as accuracy is required in performing all aspects of the role
