JOB PURPOSE

The Group Financial Accountant will play a central role within the Group finance function, playing a lead role in monthly, annual and ad hoc reporting cycles. Supporting the Group Financial Controller, youwill take ownership of financial information for the Group on NetSuite accounting system and demand precision and accuracy, establishing close working relationships with colleagues in financial operations (AR/AP) to ensure high standards and robust processes and controls.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AT JANES
  • Driving the monthly management reporting cycle, including review and posting of all accounting journals and preparing high-quality balance sheet reconciliations.
  • The Group Financial Accountantwill actively seek out ways to streamline / automate through maximising potential of accounting system.
  • Preparing the statutory accounts of the group and its subsidiaries, including overseas entities, under IFRS/UKGAAP/local GAAP.
  • Working with auditors to ensure a smooth annual audit.
  • Assisting Group FP&A Team to deliver budgets and forecasts and provide reciprocal support.
  • Working with external tax advisors on corporation tax / VAT submissions worldwide, and managing implications of tax changes across the group.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements in and processes, ensuring robust financial controls are in place and applied across the group.
  • Providing technical accounting support to Group Financial Controller and the wider business.

THE IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE ARE
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, including newly qualified candidates seeking first move into industry.
  • Previous experience of preparing or auditing accounts under IFRS / UKGAAP.
  • Strong communicator with confidence to challenge existing structures and lead process improvement.
  • Ambitious to deliver best-in-class financial reporting.
  • Organised and methodical in balancing multiple tasks and priorities, with keen eye on deadline management.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with personnel at all levels in the organisation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • NetSuite knowledgewould be advantageous.
