The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their:
Ability to confidently apply strong investigative, analytical and problem solving skills, including prioritising, planning and organising to meet strict deadlines. Experience in reviewing administrative decisions by interpreting and applying relevant legislation, policies and procedures including reporting on the review outcome, identifying any possible issues or concerns and developing solutions. Ability to work in a constructive and collaborative way by applying strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Well-developed written skills and the ability to prepare briefing notes and high level executive correspondence, reports and submissions. High level of computer literacy and the ability to identify and obtain relevant information and documentation from multiple digital databases and programs. The QBCC currently uses Salesforce, Sharepoint, Content Manager, the Microsoft Office suite of programs and internal database programs.
Desirable, but not essential
Relevant formal qualifications related to, or significant practical experience in, non-financial auditing or process compliance assurance. Experience in the building and construction and/or fire protection industries.

Key outcomes/Accountabilities
The aim of this role is to:
- Develop the audit program in collaboration with senior management.
- Manage allocated work to support the completion of the audit within the audit schedule and timeframe.
- Personally review a variety of administrative decisions made by licensing officers within the organisation, indentify any concerns or discrepencies and develop possible solutions.
- Interpret and apply the requirements of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991, Queensland Building and Construction Commission Regulation 2018 Queensland Building and Construction Commission (Minimum Financial Requirements) Regulation 2018 and other legislation and policies.
- Prepare reports, interim and final, on the outcome of the audit to be presented to internal and external stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve administrative decision making processes and to assist in the development, implementation and review of policies, procedures and systems.
