Senior Financial Accountant

This role will be the lead finance position on site in Liverpool. The role will have 2 direct reports, and be involved in month end, payroll, corporation and deferred tax, supporting external audits, statutory accounts, and financial statements. This is a very hands on role and requires someone with experience of this and someone who is happy to continue with this. You will sometimes be required to submit invoices etc, alongside being part of senior team.

Description

• Supervision of 2 members of staff - 2 accountants
• Management of the month end process to ensure completed to prescribed timelines
• Reconciliation and posting of payroll information into SAP
• Intercompany reconciliation and resolution
• Treasury support - approving payments, cash management (the companies are connected to cash pool), reconciliations and trouble shooting
• Accruals posting, based on cost centers revision and in collaboration with business
• Balance sheet reconciliations and review of reconciliations completed by other staff members
• Monthly calculation of corporation and deferred tax
• Monthly review of balance sheet of 3 legal entities to identify and resolve any issues
• Monitoring the status of intercompany loans
• Manage and support 3 external audits. To include providing detailed audit support that ties back to the audited trial balance as well as ensuring requested documentation is provided in a timely manner and escalating if needed
• Preparation of legal entity forecasts to support the audit only along with valuation of investments
• Control of the RDEC audit
• Completion of the annual tax packs and required analysis for 3 legal entities
• Completion of annual financial statements
• Monthly analysis of expenses claims for benefits in kind purposes
• Vendor and customer escalated query resolution
• Bank and cash team escalated query resolution
• Completion of annual PSA calculation and submission to HMRC
• Completion of vendor payment statistics reports
• Supervising the reconciliation of company lease agreements
• Renewal of company annual insurance

Profile

To be considered for this role, the candidate must have the following attributes:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA)
• Manufacturing experience
• SAP experience
• Happy to work in a hands on role
• Tax experience
• Experience being the lead contact for external audits
• Experience preparing financial statements

Desirable but not a necessity:

• Direct management experience
• Experience working in a large business
