Technology Consulting, Financial Services, Manager – Non-Financial Risk

The opportunity
As a member of the Non-Financial Risk Consulting group you’ll help lead financial institutions and fintech organizations to address non-financial risk and regulatory compliance issues across some of the most interesting and highly complex areas in the industry - regulatory change management, enterprise compliance, electronic trading, regulatory reporting, and holistic surveillance. You’ll work on the latest technology to solve complex non-financial risk and regulatory compliance problems (e.g. related to regulatory change, trade survelliance, cryptos). You’ll liaise with key functions of our leading clients including business, compliance, risk, technology and operations to provide strategic process or operating model enhancements, testing of key regulatory considerations, and identification and implementation of new technology solutions.
Your key responsibilities
You’ll likely spend most of your time leading teams and engagements where you’ll deliver strategic enhancement of IT systems or operational processes supporting non-financial risk compliance. You and your team will interact with clients to gain in-depth understanding of our clients’ unique needs and goals, and focus on delivery of regulatory remediation, process, and technology improvement, and provide insights to our clients through enabling technologies. You’ll implement technology performance improvement using deep subject matter knowledge to address specific business concerns.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience and understanding of two or more key frameworks and processes such as regulatory change management, risk assessment & management, compliance risk and controls, regulatory reporting, Integrated Risk Management, automated testing, third party risk, internal audit solutions, automated workflow (Service Now, Pega, Open Source solutions)
- Passion for developing and leading innovative technology solutions that solve banking and capital markets challenges
- Ability to translate business requirements/user stories into technical platform capabilities, roadmaps, solution architectures, and data domains
- Ability to cultivate and manage business development opportunities
- Ability to interface directly with clients, including leading discussions with program, divisional, and client solution leaders
- Ability to lead engagements, including the end to end ‘contract to cash’ lifecycle, and work in a cross functional and global team environment
- Ability to coach and manage a team of staff/consultant level professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds
To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field. An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in computer science, engineering, information systems, management technology, or an MBA is preferred
- More than five years’ work experience at a financial services or management consulting company working in one of the following areas: consumer compliance, regulatory change management, front-office trading, regulatory operations, regulatory reporting, compliance technology, middle office, research
- A deep understanding of non-financial risk and compliance, both from functional and technical perspectives, and previous experience with specific US Federal and State laws, rules, and regulations
- Ability and comfort to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise and build an effective team of technology consultants through all phases of the project technology life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, configuration/implementation, and testing
- Valid driver's license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel both nationally and internationally to meet client needs
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Functional/Domain skills:
- Experience working in non-financial risk domains (such as Op Risk, IT Risk, Compliance Risk, Internal Audit, or Enterprise Risk Management) focusing on technology transformation
- Experience working with regulators like FINRA, FTC, SEC, OCC, CFPB and FRB
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: definition and design of business, functional and technical requirements; system selection and implementation support; Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC); Quality Assurance and testing (QA); program/project management and implementation planning (PMO)
- Experience in one or more of the following subject areas: regulatory change management process, consumer compliance, regulatory reporting, conduct risk, etc.
- Technical skills:
- Experience with leading industry vendors in the compliance technology space – Fidessa, KX, Actimize, Behavox, Archer, ServiceNow, Open Pages, Metric Stream, Credit Bureau data providers, Thompson Reuters etc.
- Experience with Data and Compliance Analytics tools (SQL, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlikview)
- Enterprise architecture and application architecture
- Services architecture and data integration experience
- Understanding of Cloud architecture (AZURE, AWS)
- Experience with SAS, Python, Java, SQL, C++, Hadoop
