Manager, Finance Business Partner

Job Description :

The Finance Business Partner (FBP) plays an instrumental role in establishing finance business partnership with stakeholders in University's unit or group of University's units. The partnership is vital to enable and ensure effective finance planning, reporting and operations in alignment with University's policies and guidelines.
This role is responsible for planning and executing the implementation of finance initiatives and targets to help achieve the goals of the University's unit. It includes financial planning, budget monitoring and reporting, ensuring governance and compliance and coordinating operational activities related to specific objectives of the University's unit.
The role is part of the Financial Planning & Analysis team in Office of Finance.

• Understands Department's key strategy and provides relevant financial insights that value-add to the overall Department performance. Performs pro-active partnering role and acts as a trusted financial advisor to the management in the Departments to resolve strategic and operational changes.

• Drives effective end-to-end financial and/or budget planning and variance analyses and monitors external changes that would have impact on Department financial position, supports any change initiatives or project / process improvements that will improve the depth, clarity and efficiency of forecasting, budgeting, monitoring and reporting of financial performance of the Department.

• Recommends ideas and solutions with the aim of enhancing operational processes within the Department by incorporating finance expertise (such as risks exposure) and best practices Drives continuous improvements and identifies key areas of potential cost savings in the Department.

• Provides required financial expertise and advisory to Department so as to protect assets and ensures compliance with existing policies and regulation. Uses organizational acumen and knowledge of Department to advise finance office holders on implications to financial reporting, statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Working with Departments' Finance contacts to build their annual budgets and forecasts, identify costs drivers, collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.

• Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with Finance contacts / business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization

• Supports other OFIN projects as and when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accountancy
• CPA preferred
• Candidate should have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
• Experience developing financial reports and metrics
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management level and internal or external stakeholders (e.g. external auditors)
• Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
