Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be partnering with a successful FTSE 100 engineering business to recruit an Accountant for their Doncaster site.

This is a new role that has been created to enhance financial reporting on site, as well as providing financial support to commercial decision making both locally at the Doncaster site, as well as locations in Europe and the Middle East.

Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, with a dotted line to the Doncaster Site Manager and to the US, this will be a varied and challenging role, that will present the successful candidate with a great opportunity to really make a positive impact in the business.

Responsibilities will include:

- Cost Accounting and Business Partnering
o All manufacturing Finance related activities, Daily and Weekly Key financial
metrics review, month end close, standard cost setting and inventory
management
o Undertaking and assisting bid pricing
o Providing financial support to the Site Director
o Coaching non-Finance individuals
o Financial forecasting both operations and site related

- Month End Tasks including Shared Services coordination, review of results and spot checking of Journals
o Responsible for the month-end close
o Review of results against forecast
o Review of PPV and other costing variances across the region
o WIP & Inventory Analysis

- Statutory Accounts and Audit Coordination
o Responsible for the audit coordination of UK businesses
o Preparation of statutory accounts of UK businesses

- VAT and Indirect Taxes
o Coordination with both internal and external contacts to support UK Filings
o Review of VAT and indirect tax submission

- Reconciliation and Controls
o Document controls, processes and procedures related to manufacturing accounting
and ensure IFRS compliance
o Monitor, track and improve physical inventory counting processes and inventory
accuracy
o Performance and monitoring of primary (IFRS) and secondary (local) accounting
standards
o Review and management of reconciliation process

- Project experience
o Project management of local and central initiatives
o Continuous improvement identification and improvements

Key Skills / Qualifications:

- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or similar)
- UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge (and ideally preparing Statutory Accounts)
- Confident with ERP systems (and ideally Oracle)
- Knowledge of VAT/Indirect Taxes and Corporate Income Tax (calculation / filing preparations)
- Able to self-manage deadlines including project work
- Experience in working for a multinational company
- Skilled user of Excel and PowerPoint
