Description
The key responsibilities of this GDPR - Privacy Manager, based in Wiltshire are:
- Lead a global privacy team based across geographic locations
- Lead on data protection and global privacy compliance program
- Develop global privacy standards in collaboration with the Head of Legal Compliance and Ethics
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing prompt, professional advice to colleagues where necessary
- Responsible for setting and implementing all aspects of the data protection compliance strategy and program
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable data protection and privacy legislation
- Promote and encourage a culture of data privacy across the organisation - build 'hearts and minds' by leading on communication, awareness and training
- Pro-actively conduct data protection impact assessments
- Collaborate with colleagues across the business, including providing SME support to day-to-day queries and negotiations on data protection contract clauses with suppliers and customers
- Lead on BAU activities and act as point of escalation for all internal escalations
- Manage timely, appropriate and professional responses to data subject rights requests and complaints
- Implement and maintain privacy by design across the business
- Review and maintain data processing records (Art 30. GDPR)
Profile
Our client are searching for candidate who have/are:
- Previous experience of leading a team
- Previous experience within an accountancy/legal, compliance or data protection role having worked with data protection laws, with sound working knowledge of privacy compliance requirements
- Expert knowledge of the GDPR, ideally demonstrated with an appropriate qualification (e.g. CIPP/E or CIPP/M)
- Experience coordinating and/or supporting business-change projects
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside of the company, tailoring messaging to audience
- Ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
- Confidence in delivering training
- Enthusiasm for engaging with emerging laws and technologies
