Your field of responsibility

Join us an AVP within Finance Operations (Accounts Payable), where you will be responsible for:

Leading

  • The Japan Accounts Payable team in Pune
  • Assuring quality of team’s deliverable and business continuity

Stakeholder-Management

  • Mentoring, evaluation of performance and supporting professional development of the team members
  • Partner management

Operational

  • Supervising the vendor and staff expense process in an accurate and timely manner
  • Regular interaction with business partners to ensure appropriate communication with them maintaining transparency
  • Monitoring and ensuring the various Accounts Payables Key Performance Indicators are met
  • Ensuring month end activities are adhered according to the defined timelines
  • Ensuring quality and controls are in place and adhered to across all aspects of the process
  • Ensuring all the controls defined as per SoX requirements are adhered to and implemented
  • Collaboration with partners in the Finance Operations teams, IT support teams etc. as required
  • Proactively identifying process enhancement opportunities within the process or within the Finance Operations area
  • Seek to identify and drive innovation/automation ideas
  • Ensuring policies are adhered to and procedure documentations are up to date
  • Liaison with internal/external auditors on related matters
  • Any Ad hoc activities as assigned by the management

Finance Operations team in Pune is responsible for payment of all vendor invoices and reimbursements to employees of business related expenses

Your skills and experience

You’ll be a good match, if you are:

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification (B.Com, M.com) with 8-12 years of relevant experience
  • Japan language proficient (JLPT1 which is the highest proficiency below a native speaker) as most of the engagement with partner and suppliers is in Japanese.
  • Accountability and responsibility, independent working style
  • Accounts Payable or Receivable experience
  • Ability to communicate with management, vendors and staff in a variety of business settings
  • Proficient in the financial services industry
  • General accounting knowledge along with strong customer service orientation
  • Outstanding adherence to internal controls and must be highly detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize workload and sense of urgency
  • Proficient in standard AP platform
  • Outstanding written and verbal business communication skills
  • Can manage workload and thrive under pressure
  • Working in a complex accounting environment involving multi-location, cost center, and legal entities
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Accounts Payable and General Ledger environment, SAP, Oracle or other platforms
  • Understanding of bank payment systems
  • In-depth understanding Reconciliation process for Nostro and Trade Creditors accounts
  • Experience of working within a business process outsourcing environment
