Project Accountant

Our client is looking to recruit a Project Accountant on long term contract

Description

The role will entail but won't be exclusive to:

- Partnering with internal financial services to agree processes with external funding partners

- Provide input where requested by the Director of Finance to ensure deals are entered into with proper governance, controls, and approvals from impacted business units

- Business partnering with internal tax teams in various geographical locations

- Business partnering with Financial Controllers in each geographical location to improve accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting capability

- Business partnering with sales architect to ensure potential accounting and finance complexities understood with each of the suggested sales structure before any go live date

- Liaising with IT design specialists to ensure system capability for all transactions and reduce the level of manual intervention required.

- Training and mentoring local geography accounting staff in accounting for transactions, including balance sheet reconciliations and monitoring pipeline for potential deals

- Presenting financial results and opportunities to the business

Profile

The successful candidate requires as a minimum:

- Professional Accountancy Qualification - ACCA, ICAS, CIMA etc

- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload as part of a geographically dispersed team

- Good project management skills

- Commercial accounting background

- A technical accounting background

- Knowledge of tax would also be an advantage

- Experience of SAP would be beneficial

This role will be home based for the majority of the time but there will be some requirement to be in the office in Glasgow so candidates must be available to travel to the Glasgow office regularly
