Senior Head of Transformation - Treasury Funding

There is an increasing focus on Intraday and EOD liquidity capabilities across treasury processes driven by our Clients' needs as well as Regulatory focus. This emphasises the need for a consistent framework for monitoring, forecasting and escalation of liquidity usage, both intraday and EOD.

Role Description

The role has been created with this critical demand in mind. In this role you will be responsible for Treasury Technology Automation globally, providing technical leadership to define and execute a strategy towards transformation of the technology stack towards a modern platform to allow considerable acceleration to Citi's intraday liquidity strategy. You will undertake large-scale application architecture evaluation, establish a micro-service API based approach as well as Cloud adoption (provisioning, setup and migration). You will also drive the adoption of an Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) approach. You will have the exciting opportunity to lead this area into the future by developing forward-looking technology road maps, while keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies. The overall objective of this role is to fully automate the majority of the Treasury Funding processes that are currently manual and lead technology transformation of the underlying platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for a portfolio of platforms and build consistent capabilities across Securities Funding, Liquidity Transfers, Forecast Funding, Pre Advice, Interest Verification, High Value Clearing (managing the clearing of currencies in which Citi entities are direct members of the clearing system like TARGET2, CHAPS and managing intraday liquidity for these currencies), Collateral, etc.
• Assume complete ownership of resource capacity and ramp up. Quickly build a global team to ensure delivery timelines are met. Attract, upgrade, develop strong technical talent and build a strong technical organisation. Assess and align location strategy as needed to achieve optimal outcome for delivery v/s cost
• Design and develop a strategic technical framework that can functionally abstract and simplify the architecture, thereby enabling easier integration into the various data sources and other ecosystem.
• Partner closely with the Treasury Funding Operations team and accelerate automation of the processes.
• Engage with stakeholders across the Treasury Funding Automation program as well as firm wide Intraday Liquidity. Be the Primary Technology Partner to C level senior business stakeholders in Treasury, Finance, Treasury and Trade Solutions, Security Services and Markets.
• Evangelize API and Micro-services architectural and governance methodologies and influence buy in from diverse set of key stakeholders.
• Drive adoption of application patterns to meet speed, stability, scalability, security goals, and deliver on cost savings.
• Develop architecture standards, architectural frameworks, and guidelines based on proven architecture experience in building horizontally scalable, highly available, high throughput applications.
• Design instrumentation procedures and systems that analyse service performance and traceability.
• Build collaborative working relationships with clients, business, and operational partners in both a regional and global setting.
• Manage the organisation to agreed-upon financial and headcount targets, and provide metric-driven measurable competitive advantage.
• As a responsible technology leader, you will have an acute sense of Risk and Control elements of the role and ensure these are delivered on time.

Knowledge and Experience

• Knowledge/experience of Treasury Technology preferable
• Knowledge/experience developing micro-services based applications.
• Experience building and managing global technology teams
• Experience designing reference architectures and conformance to enterprise blueprints
• Experience with Java, JS frameworks, Spring, RDBMS and/or NoSQL Databases
• Experience in the deployment of containerized applications using Docker / OpenShift
