We are looking for suitably experienced personnel to provide engineering subject matter expertise (SME) for Engineering programmes for apprentices progressing through the Royal Navy Engineering Apprenticeship Programme (AP). Taking a role supporting a caseload of apprentices, completing regular progress reviews during their Programme of learning, Updating the management information system in line with Company standards, and meeting all contractual and relevant Awarding Organizational regulatory requirements.

Job Description:

What you'll be doing:
  • Apprenticeship Programme inductions, briefs and sign ups, regular progress reviews with each apprentice every 12 weeks, training delivery and support services for the Engineering Apprenticeship output measurements.
  • Manage a cohort of apprentices, providing support to complete their apprenticeship programmes by their planned end date.
  • Conducting a quality assurance oversight role for various activities and decisions within the Programme.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance regarding all aspects of the apprenticeship standard and the EPA process.
  • Acting as the point of contact for your cohort of apprentices within the Engineering team for all day to day queries.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external organizations to facilitate the delivery of the qualifications as mandated within the Engineering apprenticeship programmes and the Royal Navy.
  • Ensure all progress reviews, observations, communications, and other information regarding the apprentices are uploaded onto the Management Information System
  • As directed by the Manager/Team Leader, conduct apprenticeship/award quality control activities to ensure service outputs. (This will include travel across the UK including Scotland and overnight stay)
  • Seek Continuous Improvement initiatives within the HMS Sultan/Collingwood output areas.


What we're looking for:
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in an Engineering discipline
  • Understanding/Experience of apprenticeship standards is desirable
  • Hold Assessor Qualifications (D32/33, A1/2/ CAVA or equivalent)
  • Hold Verifier/IQA Qualifications (D34, V1, TAQA stage 2 or equivalent) - Or working towards
  • L2 demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
  • Ability to attain DBS certification status
  • Ability to attain Security clearance through Vetting (SC)
  • Able to travel across the UK with overnight stay to complete apprentice face to face visits
  • Ability to manage a high demand workload and priorities effectively in time-bound situations.
