About the role...

A fantastic opportunity have arisen for Assistant Management Accountant, on a permanent contract to support our Mainland Europe Finance Team. The team has expanded considerably, and the business has experienced continued success in the pandemic.

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to work within the Denmark, Finland and Norway (DFN) team in the existing business, with some work involved with other Mainland Europe MA teams. Key aspects of the role include the ownership of the Opex reporting across the three countries to a high level of accuracy as well as providing insightful analysis to the agreed timeframe.

You will deliver P&L reviews, own balance sheet accounts and work with the team to deliver a comprehensively reconciled balance sheet pack each month. You will also need to support on fixed assets, VAT and leases.

Key responsibilities:
  • Owning a number of areas across all three countries and supporting in the production of the monthly management accounts to a high level of accuracy
  • Providing clear and actionable Opex analysis and commentary, including ensuring supplier analysis are delivered for existing business to deadline each month for every clinic
  • Dealing with complex queries from management regarding monthly results, providing support on reconciliation differences each month, and ensuring any process issues are picked up and resolved
  • Working with the team to ensure current processes are efficient and fit for purpose, and to help identify areas for efficiency gains to support the next phase of growth
  • Working with the team to deliver a comprehensively reconciled balance sheet pack each month, including ownership of several more complex or material areas of the reconciliation
  • Utilising the finance system and practice management system reporting tools to improve the information provided and available for the team to drive efficiencies
  • All Capex is documented with description of the projects and that discussions are happening monthly to ensure all completed projects are capitalised.
  • Ensuring all Finance and Operating Leases (liabilities and assets) have been accurately reflected in the accounts every month, and all necessary documentation is on file for year-end and audit
  • Working with the tax team to ensure all VAT queries are resolved in a timely manner
  • Any other tasks as required


What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be working towards, or recently qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA accountant, with experience in assistant management accounting roles. You will have excellent IT skills including excel, and confident on various management reporting systems. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, and able to deliver right-first-time results quickly, you will be deadline focussed. You are the type of person that thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, and is prepared to be flexible to meet demands. You can alm when under pressure, pro-active, and able to work independently to complete routine, and more ad-hoc tasks.
