Responsible for managing the financial and management reporting/service for the allocated portfolio of properties. The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for completing a small portfolio of these properties themselves (when required), while managing a team of accountants to complete the rest of their portfolio.

As a senior member of the finance team, the Senior Finance Manager will also provide coaching and mentoring regarding financial and management reporting requirements to the Direct Reports, as well providing support to the Head of Property Finance.

Responsibilities:

Financial and Management Reporting:
  • Preparation of monthly P&L accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journal processing, system uploads, budget and forecast variance analysis, amortisation of lease incentives and any other reporting requirements
  • Review, analyse and query the information contained in the reports and information provided by the site teams
  • Liaise with and provide support and guidance to site teams and other internal stakeholders in relation to the financial and management reporting requirements;
  • Meet with site teams (where logistically possible in person or alternatively via teleconference) on a regular basis to discuss and query financial information relating to the Property or Portfolio
  • Meet with the Finance Managers on a monthly basis to discuss and present financial results relating to the portfolio of properties.
  • Ensure that the month end review and sign off procedures are completed and followed for all assets
  • Prepare and provide IFRS incentive and straight-line rental adjustments/reports
  • Prepare and organise the audit of the annual outgoings reconciliations
  • Ensuring all reporting is presented accurately and in accordance with accounting standards and the companys Financial Services policies and procedures
  • Liaising with the Trust Accounting team relating to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing queries/corrections
  • Assist the appointed auditor with year end and half year end fund audit
  • Assist the company upon acquisition or disposal of assets within the allocated portfolio
  • Assisting the site team with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts including reviews, analysis and checks

Staff Management:
  • Actively participate in portfolio allocation discussions with the Head of Property Accounting
  • Ensure that portfolio allocations maximize the use of staff members time
  • Regularly review the work of direct reports and provide feedback to ensure that all policies and procedures are being adhered to, identify learning and development opportunities/areas for improvement and performance management goals are achieved
  • Mentor and coach direct reports on a day to day basis in regard to technical and professional development

Requirements:
  • Intermediate level in core Microsoft packages - particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow and priorities and meet deadlines in service to several client contacts
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Customer service focus and performance outcome orientation with all colleagues at all levels
