Leading the Total Reward agenda for APAC Financial Services Organisation (FSO Region), including analysis, design, FSO approval, and enabling leaders to influence hosts’ decisions on competitive compensation, recognition, benefits & wellbeing programs.  Works in alignment with business strategy, global policy, market segment practices and regulation. Establishes a clear Total Reward strategy for FSO and drives successful implementation and regulatory compliance across all countries. Builds and maintains productive relationships with business leaders and leads on engagement with senior stakeholders. Places high emphasis on effective communication and measurement of the impact of individual initiatives on business-critical performance indicators

The opportunity

The role holder will be a senior member of the FSO Talent team, work closely with the Partner Matters Reward, FSO Talent Consultants, FSO Finance and Operations Leaders, host Region Total Rewards leaders, Talent Executive Total Reward team, and manage stakeholders including Regional Managing Partner, FSO Service Line leaders and Regional leadership team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Programs and approaches
    • Develop strong understanding of FSO business strategies and align with EY global policies, strategy and philosophy with respect to reward programs and approaches
    • Develop detailed knowledge of Region compensation, recognition, benefits and well-being market environment including competitor analysis, emerging innovation and industry benchmarks
    • Design and develop new total reward approaches to address Region and Country-specific requirements – e.g. hotspots, business-critical groups, new skills.  Work with host Region TR leaders to implement new strategies
    • Provide strong evidence-based analysis to business leaders
    • Measure effectiveness of reward programs against agreed performance indicators, feedback insights and impact to Talent team and Region leaders
    • Maintain a strong network with host Region Total Rewards teams, share best practice across all markets, and collaborate to drive improvements to programs/approaches
  • Leadership and Consultation
    • Act as a trusted advisor to all stakeholders on reward philosophy, positioning and practice, implement change management as and when required
    • Maintain a strong understanding of key business and financial drivers that determine EY’s success
    • Partner with FSO and Area finance team to ensure compliance with tax laws, align with annual budgeting and to understand accounting principles, the Service Delivery Model Transformation (SDMT), business model and workforce strategy
    • Maintain knowledge of government regulations and legislation influencing reward, be aware of trends and practices among similar organizations
  • Compensation/partner distribution review
    • Support FSO Talent Leader to manage partner performance and remuneration/distribution process (APPRS).  Work with Partner Reward Team and FSO Regional leaders - conduct ‘make and take’ analysis and provide recommendations on distributions to FSO Regional Managing Partner.  Work with host Region Total Reward Leaders and FSO Talent Consultants to drive planning, design and development of staff year-end review compensation planning across the region and identify improvement opportunities

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Graduate or Post-graduate qualifications in Human Resources or Business-related disciplines
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to adapt working style across cultures
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across the organisation at all levels
  • Strong client focus with the ability to build good relationships and work virtually/ across borders
  • Expertise in the design, development, implementation, and administration of all types of reward programs
  • Experience of implementing the salary review process, coordinating with leadership (both talent and business) to ensure a successful cycle
