Financial Accountant

A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain organisation within Sawston looking for a Financial Accountant, on an interim basis of 3-6 months initially, with a possibility of becoming permanent. This exciting organisation are looking to grow their team with driven candidates.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will be as follows:

FINANCIALS-

• To fully reconcile balance sheets for each entity, and also identifying items which will need resolving
• Produce monthly slide decks detailing the financial results
• Prepare month-end and year-end close entries- including, prepayments, accruals and revaluations
• Responsible for all accounting entries and payments
• Produce job and direct cost recharges for various entities
• Keep asset registers up to date
• Assistant the Financial Controller with balancing monthly financial statements

INTERCOMPANY-

• Assist with the production of transfer pricing/management recharge agreements
• Maintain the annual country by country reporting agreements
• Update the management recharge and job charges calculations on a quarterly basis.
• Propose any updates to the Financial controller
• Generate the management recharge and job charge invoices
• Generate the monthly job charge invoices and accruals
• Reconcile all inter-company balances each month

AUDIT-

• Aid the Financial Controller for all internal and external audits
• Update and track progress against the global annual filings timetable
• Support the Financial Controller in implementing recommended audit action

OTHER-

• Support the Financial Controller in ad-hoc projects and, preparing and reviewing UK and EU VAT returns
• Calculate monthly fuel surcharges
• Calculate customer and supplier rebates for review
• Assist with budget and forecast preparations as required

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant will have the following:

• A part qualified or newly qualified accountant or newly qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with industry experience or moving from practice
• Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP and international taxation
• Able to meet tight deadlines
• Organisational skills
• Excellent Spreadsheet skills, including Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication skills
• Great team player
• "Can-do" attitude
• Manage individual workload
• Great attention to detail
• Have an open and honest approach

It is desirable, but not essential, to have:

• Preparation of accounts for overseas businesses
• Working with Directors and non-Finance Managers
