DESCRIPTION
Amazon UK seeks an experienced commercial finance business partner to join its fast growing grocery business. Based at our UK Head Office in central London, the Senior Finance Manager will closely work with finance and business groups, and help the company manage its strategic, financial, and operational plans for this business unit.
Responsibilities include:
• Serve as finance leader for this business unit, supporting the general manager of the business unit and leading the finance work for the business unit across the P&L.
• Applying general business and financial analysis skills to define the company strategies in this unit and ensure they are delivered.
• Supporting internal customer groups in all finance and accounting matters including analysis, budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking and control.
• Finance controllership of the business unit area you will be supporting and continuous development of efficient reporting tools to support decision-making.
• Establish and maintain operating and business metrics.
• Providing analytical support such as the evaluation of business proposals, and driving ad-hoc cross-functional projects.
• Working with the client group senior management and corporate accounting to ensure effective cost management and to provide useful information for decision making.
• Monitor cost-centre expenditures versus forecasts and budgets.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong academic background and with CIMA / ACA / MBA and several years PQE.
• Significant finance experience.
• Robust analytical & modelling skills required.
• A fluency in standard software including Excel, Access.
• Possess strong communication and persuasion skills.
• Has a superior attention to detail.
• Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams
• Demonstrates strong leadership.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Finance experience from retail, FMCG or technology companies within an international environment.
• Knowledge of VBA and SQL is desirable.
• Can successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
• Strong business judgment and good instincts.
• Ability to simplify and improve inefficient or unnecessarily complex processes.
• Able to operate at all levels, by staying connected to the details as well as being able to step back and see the bigger picture.
