This is a unique opportunity to join our finance transformation team within Grant Thornton Business Consulting and to commence the role with a secondment to one of our key clients in the pharmaceutical industry. You will have a proven track record in a senior finance role within manufacturing, with a background in finance projects. This will initially be a fixed term contract role with a view to a permanent position within Grant Thornton Business Consulting.
About the role:
This role is a senior finance role and is Dublin based. The role is part of the plant leadership team.
Principal Responsibilities include:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) including forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning and analysis as required.
- Internal Control including policy reviews and management of audits
- Capital accounting including evaluation of future projects
- Working in conjunction with other departments to drive efficiencies
- Representing finance on national and international committees and working groups, as required
Once this contract with our client is completed, the candidate may become part of the Grant Thornton Finance Transformation team, as an associate director: You will combine your finance capability with programme and change management expertise to implement and embed improvements and deliver sustainable value. You will work to deliver and manage finance transformation projects in one or more of the following areas:-
- Finance strategy development
- Optimisation of procure to pay, order to cash and record to report business operations processes
- Finance operating model design
- Shared services design and implementation
- Outsourcing advisory
- Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
- Financial close, consolidation and reporting
- ERP implementation support, project and change management
- Financial analytics and other automation implementation for finance organisations
Core responsibilities will also include coaching and mentoring, performance appraisal and business development

About you:
- 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing finance, preferably at leadership level in the pharmaceutical industry
Core experience:
- Prior consulting experience in finance transformation or
- Worked on large scale finance transformation projects in industry or
- Worked in a finance team in industry with a understanding of finance function operations including Accounting, AP, AP, Tax, Cash Management, Financial planning and analysis.
- Prior experience with SAP
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills are a pre-requisite
- Excellent PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge of US GAAP preferred
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA
Other experience
- Project or change management experience is preferable
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professional and client service excellence
- The ability to develop good working relationships is critical
- Ability to effectively balance a number of tasks, work to deadlines, and produce quality deliverables
- Initiative and a proactive approach, balanced with strong business acumen
