Develop and grow modelling support.

Client Details

Dynamic and growing renewable energy business.

Description

  • Join the Offshore Operations and Maintenance team, providing cost and scenario modelling support to large scale Offshore Wind projects
  • Join an existing team of modellers which is expanding due to continued success and increasing demand for modelling support across a growing list of offshore wind projects
  • The team uses in-house developed models, and the role will initially involve using these to provide modelling support, followed by development of the models themselves once appropriate experience has been gained
  • In supporting projects, you will perform detailed commercial and risk analysis of cost books, operating models, and commercial proposals, the output of which will inform recommendations for O&M strategies
  • Part of your role will also be to identify inefficiencies in processes and concepts used by the O&M Implementation team and to drive improvement across the portfolio
  • This role will give you exposure to the senior management team and is a great stepping stone into the world of renewable energy and offshore wind

Profile

  • Relevant degree level qualification, preferably in an engineering, economic or other numerically based subject
  • Advanced Excel skills, with use of other modelling tools an advantage
  • Experience of working with complex cost or financial models, and familiarity with commercial 'cost / benefit' analysis methodology
  • Analytical and detail conscious (you like to understand why numbers have changed)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present numerical information in a clear and concise way to senior management
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, and to challenge the work of others in an effective but sensitive manner
  • Understanding of electricity market in the UK and challenges that face the renewable energy industry a bonus
  • Postgraduate qualification in a renewable energy related subject a bonus
