Description
The role is very hands-on and you will mainly be responsible for processing as well as overseeing the payroll. You will be involved with monthly payroll runs, ensuring the employer and employee PAYE are managed and paid in good time. You will also be responsible for managing the company's pensions and benefits payments as well as maintaining payroll accounts and employee records.
- Operate and maintain the payroll software/system (currently Sage 50cloud)
- Independently process end to end payroll processing
- Maintaining accurate payroll records
- Reconcile monthly payroll changes
- Manage all pension schemes
- Manage all third-party payments (e.g. HMRC etc.)
- Compile required reports on monthly basis
- Communicate and liaise with nominated HR representatives
- Checking the number of hours employees have worked, taken sick (calculate SSP or CSP), or as holiday
- Processing pay raises, shift payments and overtime compensation
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Collaborating with the human resources department to maintain employee data
- Resolving issues employees have with timesheets, payslips and other payroll matters
- Changing employee bank records when necessary to process payments accurately
- Ensure wages are ready in time to be paid by electronic transfer
- Maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures Legislation compliance and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Profile
- Experienced Payroll Professional
- Confident with Overseeing the Payroll Process and being the Payroll Lead
- You don't need to have management experience but it would be beneficial
- Experience using the SageCloud Payroll system is beneficial but not essential
- Experience of reviewing and identifying potential areas of change/improvements
Job Offer
Salary £32,000 - £38,000 potentially up to £40,000 depending on experience but can't be guaranteed
Flexibility to work a mixture from the office and from home depending on the needs of the role and business
25 days holiday plus other benefits
