Overview

Reporting to the Team Manager / Snr BA Continuous Improvement the Business Analyst Continuous Improvement, supports the wider business in the implementation of IT projects and is the link between the business and IT. Playing a pivotal part in ensuring that business requirements are fed back into the project team and converted into functional specifications.

In this role, you will be involved with the following:

  • Conducting interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, use cases scenarios and other methods.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria and metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders, project and application maintenance team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the system.
  • Test the newly implemented systems and features.
  • Support delivery of the Continuous Improvement projects and workstreams.
  • Deliver project tasks on time and to a high standard.
  • Employee satisfaction survey.


To be successful in this position, you are likely to have the following skills/experience :

  • Work experience in an Architecture, Design, Development or Business Analyst position.
  • Experienced in applying modelling languages to analyse and document designs.
  • Hands-on software development and design experience in complex information system context.
  • Experience in setting up automated software development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and structured way of thinking, high organizational skills and IT affinity.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Continuous Improvements experience focusing on delivering operational improvements and cost savings.
  • Knowledge of the technical, environmental, and planning constraints surrounding the development of retail and renewable energy, decentralized and flexible generation projects.
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages is an asset.
  • Knowledge of analysis methodologies and UML are advantages.
  • Knowledge of Lean Practitioner & Lean Leader tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office products.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Visio is preferable.
  • Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders.
  • Comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with business executives, and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic way.
  • Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideals and strategies.
  • Vendor- and technology-neutral - more interested in business outcomes than in personal, or those business and IT leaders with vested personal preferences.
  • Unflappable in the face of opposition to change ideals.
  • Practical in approach to decision making and problem solving that is principle-based.
  • Can-do attitude.
