Assistant Accountant

Page Personnel are recruiting an Accounts Assistant for a business just outside of Nottingham city centre. The role is a real mix of month end duties, purchase ledger and ad hoc work.

Description

The Assistant Accountant will be working as part of a small finance team, and will reporting into the Finance Manager. The role is c. 55% month end duties, c. 30% purchase ledger and 15% ad hoc work.

Month end and ad hoc duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Month end expenses
• Intrastat for sales
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Journals, accruals and prepayments
• Producing rebate schedules
• Statement reconciliations
• Supporting with the audit

Duties in purchase ledger will include, but will not be limited to:

• Making BACs and direct debit payments
• Reconciling the accounts
• Scanning and posting invoices
• Dealing with suppliers
• Setting up new suppliers
• Processing inter company invoices

The role will develop further in the future, as you will inherit some of the Finance Manager's duties e.g. cashflow forecasting and financial analysis.

Profile

To be considered for this role, you:

• Must have experience of some, although not all of the above duties
• Must have experience of working in purchase ledger
• Will be keen to progress your career, as this role will develop further in the future
• Will ideally be studying AAT, or be AAT qualified, but this is not essential

Job Offer

• A salary between £24,000 and £27,000

• The role will initially include some homeworking (c. 3 days per week) but the role will become an office based role once restrictions are eased.
